Job summary

South Florida Donor Network is seeking an Advanced Practice Clinician to evaluate organ donor referrals, medically manage donors, allocate donated organs and perform moderately complex procedures on brain dead donors.

The APC will support the Medical Director, manage hemodynamics, medications, and ventilation, and review records to determine donor suitability per CMS/OPTN/UNOS guidelines, while maintaining confidentiality and high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include an associate degree or higher in nursing, respiratory therapy, paramedic medicine, or related biological science.
• CPTC certification is preferred and must be obtained within 18 months of employment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing, respiratory therapy, or related biological science is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderately complex testing with portable bedside laboratory devices per CLIA standards.
• Manages donor during organ recovery, including hemodynamics, medications, and ventilation.
• Reviews donor records and labs to determine organ/tissue suitability per CMS/OPTN/UNOS and CDC guidelines.
• Collaborates with hospital staff to optimize donor function and ensure timely organ allocation.
• Adheres to documentation, confidentiality, and policy requirements in all donor records.
