HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a training architect to design and implement development programs for managers and teams. You will assess business issues and craft organization development plans to boost performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include facilitating reengineering efforts, advising on team design, and coaching leaders in essential leadership skills. Hybrid telework is available.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's Degree with 3 years exempt experience; Master’s Degree with 1 year.
• NNS Apprentice School graduate.
• NNPS graduate.
• Associate's Degree or 2-year program with 2 years exempt experience or 4 years non-exempt experience.
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience.
• High School/GED with 4 years combined Manufacturing/Shipbuilding/Military experience or 8 years combined in non-exempt roles.

The Role

Designs and implements development training programs to enhance the effectiveness of managers and teams to increase organization productivity and customer satisfaction. Assesses critical business issues and designs organization development and strategic plans to enhance company performance. Facilitates design and implementation of reengineering and/or reorganization efforts. Advises on team design and performance. Provides development, coaching and training managers on leadership skills.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience

• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
• Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Minimum Skills

• Working knowledge of ADDIE and adult learning theory
• Experience developing blended learning: instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning (Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia)
• Ability to create job aids and performance support tools aligned with standards
• Basic media development capability (Adobe Photoshop-simple graphics, Adobe Audition-audio/video cleanup)
• Ability to create clear, accurate training based on technical documents, procedures, drawings, and shipyard processes
• Experience updating or maintaining training materials for compliance, audits, and quality reviews
• Ability to collaborate with department training managers and coordinators on courseware development

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with SME mechanics, leaders, and office personnel
• Ability to conduct learning needs assessments and support training gap analysis
• Knowledge of SCORM/xAPI creation and troubleshooting
