Responsibilities

• Assist in daily administrative and organizational functions of the warehouse as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
• Keep records of all documentation relating to the shipping and receiving of goods and materials.
• Prepare inventory balances and related documentation.
• Schedule incoming freight shipments and verify packing labels.
• Unload pallets of newly arrived raw materials and inspect materials for damage.
• Place new raw materials in appropriate inventory and arrange return of damaged materials.
• Locate and stock inventory, identify low stock items, and rotate stock (FIFO).
• Provide service to walk-in customers, assist with inventory selection and order writing, and maintain warehouse safety.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Assist in handling the daily administrative and organizational functions of the warehouse assigned by the Warehouse Manager. Keeping records of all documentation relating to the shipping and receiving of goods and materials. Preparing of inventory balanced, and related documents.

DUTIES

RECEIVING MATERIALS

• Schedule incoming freight shipments.
• Read and verify packing labels.
• Unload pallets of newly arrived raw material.
• Inspect raw materials for any damage.
• Place the new raw material in the appropriate inventory.

Arrange the return of any damaged raw material.

INVENTORY

• Locate inventory material for shipping.
• Stock new inventory material.
• Re-stock any additional inventory.
• Determine the location of missing item.
• Identify low stock items.
• Rotate old stock items to the front (FIFO).
• Maintain materials organized.
• Move raw material without damaging it.

WORK WITH CUSTOMERS

Provide service to walk-in customers.

• Assist walk-in customers with inventory selection and other decisions.
• Write up orders for walk-in customers.
• Maintain warehouse safety and cleanliness.
• Operate forklifts and other machinery or tools safely.
• Wear proper personal protection equipment.
• Keep area clean.
• Remove obstacles from warehouse floor.
