Position Summary

Based in Fairfield, OH the Order Entry Clerk position will perform essential job functions associated with order entry with limited supervision.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

• Reviews industry and customer specifications to accurately create shop travelers, utilizing applicable standards, customer documentation, and input from the Planning department.
• Communicates with customers as needed to clarify or resolve purchase order discrepancies.
• Assists with various administrative tasks as required, including answering phones and general office support.
• Reports any unusual issues or irregularities to the supervisor promptly.
• Practices and promotes workplace safety and good housekeeping at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for the care and proper handling of customer inventory, performing all duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent loss or damage.
• Expected to report to work on time, follow instructions, interact effectively with co-workers, adhere to company policies and procedures, and accept constructive feedback.
• Serves as a backup for essential Shipping/Receiving functions, including operating a forklift when necessary.
• Creates customer profiles in the ERP system and submits AX setup requests to the Office Manager.

Qualifications

• This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
• Education – High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three year of experience in Data Entry/Customer Service in manufacturing or related industry.
• Requires basic knowledge of metallurgy, heat treating, and related subjects.
• Requires knowledge of and/or ability to quickly learn industry, customer and metallurgical standards.
• Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office/basic computer applications and good understanding of basic math.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
• Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.

Physical & Mental Demands

• Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
• Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.
