Job summary

Carrollwood Farms in North Carolina seeks an experienced Orchard & Groundskeeper to manage the health, appearance, and productivity of multiple orchards and surrounding grounds. You will prune, fertilize, monitor pests, apply pesticides per regulations, and help plan future orchard expansion while supporting guest experiences as the property opens to the public.

Qualifications

• Pesticide applicator’s license preferred, or willingness and ability to obtain one within a timeframe established by management.
• Working knowledge of apple, peach, pecan, and other fruit and nut trees.
• Experience with dormant-season and growing-season pruning of orchard trees.
• Knowledge of orchard pest, disease, and fertility management.
• Ability to operate tractors and attachments including a jet sprayer.
• Ability to safely operate groundskeeping equipment including mowers, chainsaws, line trimmers, blowers, wood splitter, and other power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the orchards and surrounding areas, including pruning, fertilization, pest management, and harvest records.
• Coordinate orchard spraying with farm team; monitor pest and disease signs.
• Develop and maintain orchard maps and growth records; assist with new orchard planting.
• Interact professionally with guests as the farm opens to the public.
