The State of Georgia, Office of the Attorney General, Department of Law, Criminal Investigator for Prosecutions - Organized Retail Crime (ENTRY LEVEL) seeks a candidate to screen, investigate, and prepare cases under supervision. You will handle investigations, warrants, and evidence while supporting prosecutors in court.

This role provides exposure to ORC, Gangs and other divisions, with ongoing training and opportunity to advance, while fulfilling POST certification requirements and

Qualifications

• 1 year of law enforcement experience.
• P.O.S.T. certification.
• Between 1-3 years of investigative experience (preferred).
• Criminal justice or related degree from an accredited four-year college or university (preferred).
• Experience with ORC investigations, interviews, surveillance, and documentation (preferred).
• Experience with multi-codefendant investigations, social media and digital evidence (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Screens and investigates allegations within agency jurisdiction; makes arrests, obtains/search warrants, and prepares cases for prosecution.
• Maintains professional knowledge of current trends related to the work.
• Collects, reviews, and evaluates physical and electronic evidence.
• Presents accurate courtroom testimony and assists prosecutors in pretrial activities.
• Maintains relationships with other agencies and prepares thorough case reports.
