Job summary

State of Georgia is seeking a Criminal Investigator for the Organized Retail Crime (ORC) squad within the Office of the Attorney General, Prosecutions – Organized Retail Crime. The role supports the Division’s work across Gangs, Human Trafficking, Public Corruption, White Collar Crimes and ORC to deliver legal representations for state agencies.

The position requires two years of criminal investigation experience and a current P.O.S.T. certification.

Qualifications

• 2 years of criminal investigation experience.
• Current P.O.S.T. certification.

Responsibilities

• Screens and investigates allegations within the agency's jurisdiction; makes arrests, obtains and serves search warrants, and prepares cases for prosecution.
• Maintains knowledge of current trends related to assigned work.
• Interviews victims, witnesses and suspects, gathers intelligence, and reviews documentation.
• Obtains and executes search and arrest warrants; maintains chain of custody of evidence.
