Blue Origin seeks an experienced orbital welder to support the New Glenn rocket. You will fabricate and install hydraulic, pneumatic, and propellant tubing on-vehicle, collaborating with engineers to review designs and ensure weld quality.

Ideal candidates have orbital welding experience, can read aerospace drawings, and work with various thin-wall alloys. This position may require overtime and relocation is provided.

Qualifications

• Orbital welding experience highly preferred.
• Experience in aerospace or related fields.
• Experience with AWS D17.1 and/or similar fusion welding or orbital tube welding specifications.
• Ability to use standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment (band saw, chop saw, grinders, drills).
• Capable of reading aerospace 2D/3D drawings and tolerances.
• Experience with thin wall alloys (316 SS, Inco 625, CRES 21-6-9, Monel, Titanium).
• Self-starter with initiative and bias for action.

Responsabilités

• Fabricate and install hydraulic, pneumatic and propellant tubing.
• Work with engineers to review design concepts, provide feedback for ease of assembly, and support development tests.
• Review, edit and follow work instructions for assembly tasks.
• Plan and communicate assembly steps for complex mechanical installations.
• Safely work with hazardous systems and high-pressure fluids.
• Hand fit and tack weld parts using TIG as required.
• Help design tooling to fixture parts for welding.
• Visually inspect welds using borescopes and other inspection methods.
• Develop weld schedules for various systems and components.
• Setup, operate, and maintain orbital welding equipment.
• Cut and prepare tubing and fittings for welding.
• Maintain a clean work environment and comply with overtime as needed.
