Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Huntsville is seeking an Orbital Tube Welder to fabricate and install hydraulic, pneumatic and propellant tubing. You will work with engineers to review designs and plan assembly steps for complex installations, while safely handling hazardous systems and high pressures.

The role requires read of aerospace drawings, experience with thin-wall alloys, and proficiency with orbital welding equipment and 3D CAD tools such as CREO.

Qualifications

• Ability to use standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment (band saw, chop saw, grinders, drills).
• Capable of using precision tools to measure tight tolerances (calipers, height gauge, scales).
• Ability to read and understand aerospace 2D/3D drawings.
• Experience with thin wall alloys (316 SS, Inco 625, CRES 21-6-9, Monel, Titanium).

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and install hydraulic, pneumatic and propellant tubing.
• Review design concepts with engineers and provide feedback for ease of assembly.
• Plan and communicate assembly steps for complex mechanical installations.
• Safely work with hazardous systems and high pressure.
• Operate and maintain orbital tube welding equipment.
• Inspect welds using borescopes and other methods.
