Job summary

Applied Energy Systems, Inc. in Malvern, PA, is seeking an Orbital Welder to join our Production Department. You will weld high and ultra-high-purity gas delivery components in a clean-room, reading drawings and following job travelers.

We value good dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and precision, with 1–2 years welding or manufacturing experience. This full-time role offers overtime and a supportive team in a growing ISO-certified environment. Signing bonus included.

Responsibilities

• Read project drawings, specifications, work orders, and procedures.

• Safely operate orbital welding equipment.
• Perform standard welding procedures.
• Complete production paperwork and recordkeeping.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area (5S).
• Willing to work overtime as required.
• Interface effectively with team members for resources.

Position Overview:

The Orbital Welder will support our Production Department by welding high and ultra high purity gas delivery system components using semi-automatic orbital welding equipment. This position works in a clean-room environment and requires an understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and job travelers. The candidate must have good manual dexterity, experience with mechanical assembly and manufacturing measuring and math skills.

Responsibilities Include:

• Read project drawings, specifications, work orders, and procedures
• Position, align, and set-up components according to specifications
• Identify faulty components and/or test and inspect welded surfaces for quality
• Safely operate orbital welding equipment
• Perform standard welding procedures
• Complete production paperwork and recordkeeping
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area (5S)
• Willing to work overtime as required
• Effectively interface with team members for component and equipment resources

• Excellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to work with and handle small instruments and components
• Strong appreciation for time management, priorities, and deadlines

Requirements:

• Must have good vision and dexterity
• Must be able to sit throughout the day for extended periods of time
• Be able to follow protocols and direction thoroughly and repetitively
• High School degree preferred
• 1-2 years' experience in a welding, production, assembly, or manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
