Job summary

Randstad is seeking an Orbital Welder in Austin, TX to join a precision fabrication team for semiconductor equipment. You will weld, inspect, and test high-purity assemblies in a cleanroom-adjacent setting with a focus on zero-defect quality.

Qualified candidates read blueprints, interpret WPS/P&ID docs, and hold welder certifications. OSHA-10 preferred; ability to lift up to 35 lbs; salary $23–$27/hr.

Qualifications

  • Ability to hold or obtain welder certifications (AWS D1.1/D1.6, ASME Section IX).
  • Proficiency reading AWS welding symbols, blueprints, and WPS documents.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor/high-purity cleanliness standards (SEMI F19/F20 practices) is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills for system data entry (ERP/MES).
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain it).

Responsibilities

  • Precision welding: Set up and operate orbital welding equipment on stainless steel and specialty alloy tubing/fittings (typically 1/8'' to 1/2'' O.D.).
  • Print & schematic reading: Interpret work orders, blueprints, weld procedure specifications (WPS), and P&ID drawings to determine weld sequencing and acceptance criteria.
  • Assembly & testing: Purge and leak-test high-purity gas and chemical delivery lines.
  • Quality & inspection: Perform visual and precision inspections to ensure semiconductor cleanliness standards.
  • Equipment maintenance: Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot orbital welding heads and power supplies.
  • Documentation: Keep clear, accurate digital records of work performed, labor, and material usage in the production tracking system.

Are you a detail-oriented welder looking to bring your skills to the cutting edge of high-tech manufacturing? We are seeking a skilled Orbital Welder to join a top-tier precision fabrication team building equipment for the semiconductor industry.

In this role, you’ll utilize advanced orbital welding equipment to build, repair, and test complex vacuum, mechanical, and pneumatic assemblies. If you take pride in weld quality, cleanliness, and zero-defect precision in a cleanroom-adjacent environment, we want to hear from you!

Shift Availability
  • Entry Level: M - F 6 AM - 4 PM or 4 PM - 2 AM
  • Intermediate: F- M 6 AM- 4PM or 4PM - 2AM
Technical Qualifications
  • Ability to hold or obtain welder certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1/D1.6, ASME Section IX).
  • Proficiency reading AWS welding symbols, blueprints, and WPS documents.

  • Print & Schematic Reading: Interpret work orders, blueprints, weld procedure specifications (WPS), and P&ID drawings to determine weld sequencing and acceptance criteria.
  • Assembly & Testing: Perform mechanical assembly, purging, and leak-testing (vacuum pumps, test fixtures, electronic measurement tools) for high-purity gas and chemical delivery lines.
  • Quality & Inspection: Perform visual and precision inspections on all completed welds to ensure compliance with strict semiconductor cleanliness standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot orbital welding heads and power supplies.
  • Documentation: Keep clear, accurate digital records of work performed, labor, and material usage in the production tracking system.
The essential functions of this role include:
