Star Catcher is hiring a Spacecraft Mechanical Design Engineer in Jacksonville, FL. You will design mechanical components and assemblies for space-to-space power beaming hardware, producing fabrication drawings with GD&T and maintaining CAD configurations for evolving spacecraft.

You will work cross-functionally with electrical, thermal, and structural teams and support hands-on build and test activities. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least three years of aerospace

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, structural, or aerospace engineering.
• Minimum three years of experience designing, drafting, and releasing flight hardware or related space hardware.
• Experience producing production-quality parametric models and drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 in Autodesk Inventor or equivalent.
• Experience in a managed CAD data environment with revision control and change processing.

Responsabilités

• Design mechanical components and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor to meet program requirements.
• Create fabrication and assembly drawings using GD&T and process through review and release.
• Maintain spacecraft CAD configuration, mass properties, and deployment envelopes as designs evolve.
• Track mass properties against budgets and report growth at design reviews.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis using worst-on-worst and other methods.
• Coordinate with machinists and suppliers on producibility and fabrication planning.
• Design enclosures for circuit cards and coordinate with EE and Thermal teams.
• Support hands-on build, integration, and test hardware activities.
