Job summary

Allied OMS in Elkhart, IN seeks a Surgical Assistant to support oral surgeons throughout the surgical process, including room prep, instrument handling, X-ray taking, and patient education. You will ensure sterile environments and assist with exams and post-operative instructions.

Qualifications

• Experience in dental fields or oral surgery is preferred, but training is possible for the right candidate.
• CPR certification is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization protocols is helpful but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Experience with data management software and documenting patient EMRs is a plus.

Responsibilities

We're seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Surgical Assistant to support our oral surgeons, ensuring an efficient workflow and exceptional patient care throughout the surgical process. Requirements

What You'll Do:

• Assist the oral surgeon during procedures such as extractions, implant placement, and other surgical treatments.
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms with surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile environments.
• Take and develop X-rays as needed.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care instructions to patients.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during procedures.
• Support the office team with scheduling, sterilization, and other administrative duties as required.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience: Prior experience in dental fields or oral surgery is highly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn. CPR Certification is a plus, but not required.
