Job summary

NJ Oral & Facial Surgery is seeking a skilled Oral Surgery/Dental Assistant to join our Howell and Monroe NJ team, working alongside experienced oral surgeons in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment where your skills make a difference daily.

Responsibilities include assisting during extractions, implants and facial surgeries; preparing and sterilizing instruments; taking dental X-rays; monitoring sedation; documenting records; and educating patients on pre- and post-operative care.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a dental or oral surgery assistant preferred.
• Familiarity with oral surgery procedures, instruments, and terminology.
• Dental radiography certification or X-ray license required.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Strong chairside manner with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist oral surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures including extractions, implants, and facial surgeries.
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and maintain a clean, organized operatory.
• Take and process dental X-rays and CBCT scans as needed.
• Monitor and assist with patient sedation and post-operative care.
• Educate patients on pre- and post-operative instructions to ensure smooth recovery.
• Manage and document accurate patient records and treatment notes.
• Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
