HIDEMI OKA DMD MD MS INC in Union City, CA, seeks a part-time Oral Surgery Assistant to support the surgeon and clinical team. You will prep rooms, assist during procedures, and help with IV sedation and anesthesia monitoring, aiming to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

The role involves 20–24 hours per week in a fast-paced specialty practice, with emphasis on teamwork, precision, and patient safety, while developing advanced surgical skills.

Qualifications

• Dental assisting experience is required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
• Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to meet California clinical duties and maintain patient safety.
• Preferred: experience with IV sedation and anesthesia; DAANCE/OMSA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during oral and maxillofacial procedures and prepare surgical rooms.
• Anticipate surgeon needs, maintain sterile technique, and document clinical information.
• Support anesthesia monitoring and recovery, including vital signs documentation.
• Provide patient education and ensure a calm, compassionate patient experience from arrival to discharge.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and assist with inventory and equipment.
