Paradigm Oral Surgery in Michigan is seeking a dependable Surgical Assistant to support our surgeons and clinical team in a modern, patient-focused practice.

You will assist during oral surgery procedures, prepare patients, monitor vitals, support anesthesia, sterilize instruments, and maintain accurate charting. A team-oriented mindset and attention to detail are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of dental assisting experience (oral surgery preferred).
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Radiology X-ray License.
• Experience with sedation cases or willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate provider needs.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• NJ Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or CDA certification is a plus.
• Experience with implants and full-arch cases is beneficial.
• Familiarity with surgical workflows and digital charting.

Responsibilities

• Assist during oral surgery procedures including extractions, implants, and bone grafting.
• Prepare patients for surgery and review medical histories.
• Monitor and document vital signs during procedures and sedation.
• Support anesthesia set-up and patient recovery.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and operatories.
• Follow infection control, OSHA, and safety protocols.
• Take dental radiographs and assist with imaging (pan/CBCT preferred).
• Maintain accurate charting and clinical documentation.
• Provide pre- and post-op instructions and patient support.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure efficient patient flow.
