Job summary

Steven D Darmstadt DDS Inc in Anaheim, CA is seeking a skilled Oral Surgery Assistant to join our team. You will support the oral surgeon during surgeries, handle X-ray imaging, keep the operatory sterile, and guide patients through pre- to post-operative care.

Ideal candidates have dental assistant certification (CA) or RDA, X-ray certification, CPR/BLS, and a compassionate, organized demeanor to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a dental or oral surgery assistant strongly preferred.
• Dental Assistant certification or RDA license preferred in California.
• X-ray certification (Radiation Safety) required.
• Familiarity with oral surgery procedures, instruments, and terminology.
• CPR/BLS certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Strong chairside manner with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures including extractions, implants, and biopsies.
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and maintain a clean, organized operatory.
• Take and process dental X-rays, including panoramic and periapical imaging.
• Monitor and support patients during pre-op, procedure, and post-op recovery.
• Document patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories accurately.
• Educate patients on post-operative care and answer follow-up questions.
• Manage surgical supply inventory and ensure proper equipment maintenance.
