Job summary

Steven D Darmstadt DDS Inc is seeking a skilled Oral Surgery Assistant to join our Anaheim, CA practice. You will work alongside an experienced oral surgeon in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment where your hands-on expertise makes a meaningful difference for patients.

Your responsibilities include assisting during extractions, implants, and biopsies; preparing and sterilizing instruments; taking panoramic and periapical X-rays; monitoring patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively; and

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a dental or oral surgery assistant strongly preferred.
• Dental Assistant certification or RDA license preferred in California.
• X-ray certification (Radiation Safety) required.
• Familiarity with oral surgery procedures, instruments, and terminology.
• CPR/BLS certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Strong chairside manner with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures including extractions, implants, and biopsies
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and maintain a clean, organized operatory
• Take and process dental X-rays, including panoramic and periapical imaging
• Monitor and support patients during pre-op, procedure, and post-op recovery
• Document patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories accurately
• Educate patients on post-operative care and answer follow-up questions
• Manage surgical supply inventory and ensure proper equipment maintenance
