Job summary

Nuva-Smile in Haledon, NJ is seeking a part-time Oral Surgeon Dental Assistant to support a busy family practice performing general dentistry and oral surgery. This position involves Saturdays only, assisting the Oral Surgeon, taking x-rays, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining records.

Requirements include a high school diploma or accredited orthodontic assistant program, a dental assistant license or relevant experience, and an X-ray license.

Qualifications

• Diploma from accredited orthodontic assistant program or relevant clinical experience.
• X-ray license required and knowledge of oral surgery procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist Oral Surgeon in patient assessment and treatment planning.
• Prepare and assist with oral surgery procedures; maintain instruments.
• Sterilize equipment and manage infection control.
• Record keeping, patient files, and radiographs.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
• Deliver patient education on oral hygiene under supervision.

We are a busy family practice performing all phases of general dentistry as well as Oral Surgery, and we are looking for a PT Oral Surgeon Dental Assistant to join our team. X-Ray License Required. Location: Haledon and Ridgefield Park, NJ (Saturdays only)

Responsibilities

• Assist Oral Surgeon in patient assessment and treatment planning
• Assist and prepare Oral Surgery procedures
• Sterilize, set up and prepare oral surgery equipment and instrumentation
• Preparation and maintenance of medical records and documentation
• Create patient file entries
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Provide patient instruction and education on oral hygiene and care
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Perform basic laboratory duties
• Schedule patient appointments
• Manage patient flow
• Under the supervision of the Oral Surgeon, deliver and assist with direct patient care
• Take diagnostic records
• Document and prepare cases
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements
