Virginia Oral & Facial Surgery in Short Pump, VA seeks a dedicated Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant to join a fast-paced team. The role supports the surgeon before, during, and after procedures, with responsibilities spanning patient care, imaging, and chart documentation.

The position requires at least one year of dental assisting or surgery-related experience, familiarity with sterilization, HIPAA, and good communication skills. CPR is a plus, and positions include comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of dental assisting or surgery-related experience.
• Knowledge of sterilization principles.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care with empathy before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist surgeon with evaluations, surgeries, and post-op visits.
• Take digital x-rays and models.
• Document patient charts during evaluations, surgical procedures, and post-op appointments.
• Prepare surgical trays, and evaluation and surgical rooms for procedures.
• Maintain sterilization of instruments, laboratories, and treatment rooms.
• Complete clinical and pharmacy logs according to practice standard.
