Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. seeks a hands-on Oracle MySQL Database Architect for designing and maintaining scalable MySQL architectures in production environments. You will lead installations, upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning to ensure reliability and high availability.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of MySQL DBA/Architecture experience, strong Linux/Unix skills, and familiarity with replication, backup, and DR strategies, with optional cloud exposure on AWS or Azure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of MySQL Database Administration/Architecture experience.
• Hands-on with MySQL, SQL, indexing and query optimization.
• Experience with replication, InnoDB, HA/DR and backups.
• Experience migrating/upgrading databases in production environments.
• Strong Linux/Unix operational knowledge.
• Nice to have AWS or Azure cloud experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with development and infrastructure teams on database design and best practices.
• Monitor database health, capacity, security, and availability.
• Troubleshoot complex production database issues.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of experience with MySQL Database Administration/Architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with MySQL, SQL, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with MySQL Replication, InnoDB, HA/DR, backup & recovery.
• Experience with database migration and upgrade projects.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
