Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking a seasoned Oracle DBA to join our team in a full-time capacity. The role covers administration, monitoring, and support across Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c/21c) with GoldenGate replication and Exadata infrastructure management.

The candidate will configure and sustain RAC/ASM/Data Guard, perform installations and patches, monitor performance with AWR/ASH/ADDM, and implement robust backup/recovery and DR strategies using RMAN.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
• Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for Oracle GoldenGate.
• Exadata Administration, monitoring, patching, performance optimization.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard/Active Data Guard.
• RMAN backup and recovery expertise.
• Proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Strong performance tuning using AWR/ASH/ADDM and SQL Tuning.
• Linux/Unix administration skills; Shell scripting.
• Ability to work in 24x7 on-call rotation and handle production incidents.
• Banking/financial services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Oracle GoldenGate replication in Uni-/Bi-directional setups.
• Administer Exadata infrastructure and databases.
• Configure and troubleshoot Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
• Perform installation, upgrades, patching, migration, cloning, refreshes.
• Monitor performance with AWR/ASH/ADDM and OEM.
• Manage backup/recovery strategies with RMAN; test DR.
• Implement HA/DR using Data Guard.
• Support production incidents and problem management.
• Collaborate with apps, infra, and cloud teams during deployments.
• Automate routine DBA tasks via Shell Scripting and Oracle utilities.
• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and support Oracle Database environments (11g/12c/19c/21c).

• Manage and maintain Oracle GoldenGate replication (Uni-directional and Bi-directional environments).

• Administer and support Oracle Exadata infrastructure and databases.

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard environments.

• Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, migration, cloning, and refresh activities.

• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and OEM.

• Manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and perform disaster recovery testing.

• Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions using Data Guard.

• Support production incidents, service requests, problem management, and root cause analysis.

• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams during deployments and migrations.

• Automate routine DBA tasks using Shell Scripting and Oracle utilities.

• Ensure database security, compliance, and operational best practices.

The salary range for this role is between $99,000 and $116,000 depending on skills and qualifications of the candidate. Applications will be accepted till 11/11/2026.
