Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Oracle DBA for a full-time opportunity in Hawaii. The role focuses on administering, monitoring, and supporting Oracle Database environments across multiple versions (11g/12c/19c/21c).

Responsibilities include GoldenGate replication, Exadata administration, RAC/ASM/Data Guard, RMAN backups, and HA/DR solutions. The candidate will work with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams, and contribute to performance tuning and security best practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
• Experience with GoldenGate, Exadata, RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
• Proficient in RMAN, OEM, and performance tuning using AWR/ASH/ADDM.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and support Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c/21c).
• Manage Oracle GoldenGate replication (uni-directional and bi-directional).
• Administer Exadata infrastructure and databases.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
• Perform installations, upgrades, patching, migrations, cloning, and refresh activities.
• Monitor performance with AWR/ASH/ADDM and OEM; tune as needed.
• Manage backup and recovery with RMAN; conduct DR testing.
• Implement HA/DR solutions using Data Guard.
• Support production incidents, service requests, problem management, and RCA.
• Work with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams during deployments and migrations.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using Shell scripting; ensure security and best practices.
• Ensure database security, compliance, and operational best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and support Oracle Database environments (11g/12c/19c/21c).

• Manage and maintain Oracle GoldenGate replication (Uni-directional and Bi-directional environments).

• Administer and support Oracle Exadata infrastructure and databases.

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard environments.

• Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, migration, cloning, and refresh activities.

• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and OEM.

• Manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and perform disaster recovery testing.

• Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions using Data Guard.

• Support production incidents, service requests, problem management, and root cause analysis.

• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams during deployments and migrations.

• Automate routine DBA tasks using Shell Scripting and Oracle utilities.

• Ensure database security, compliance, and operational best practices.

• Oracle Database Administration: 10+ years

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated environments is preferred.

The salary range for this role is between $99,000 and $116,000 depending on skills and qualifications of the candidate. Applications will be accepted till 11/11/2026.
