Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking an Oracle DBA for a full-time opportunity in the United States. You will administer, monitor, and support Oracle Database environments across 11g/12c/19c/21c, and manage GoldenGate replication as well as Exadata infrastructure.

The role requires hands-on experience with RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN backups, and performance tuning using AWR/ASH/ADDM; you will collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams in a 24x7 on-call model.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
• Experience with Oracle GoldenGate installations and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in Oracle Exadata administration and patching.
• Hands-on with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
• Strong performance tuning using AWR/ASH/ADDM and OEM.
• Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
• Experience supporting large-scale mission-critical production environments.
• Willingness to work in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience in banking/financial services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, migration, cloning, and refresh activities.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and OEM.
• Manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and perform disaster recovery testing.
• Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions using Data Guard.
• Support production incidents, service requests, problem management, and root cause analysis.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams during deployments and migrations.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using Shell Scripting and Oracle utilities.
• Ensure database security, compliance, and operational best practices.

The salary range for this role is between $99,000 and $116,000 depending on skills and qualifications of the candidate. Applications will be accepted till 11/11/2026.
