Our intermediate Database Developer is responsible for Oracle database development, maintenance, and support, and assistance with client database issues. In this role, you will be expected to design tables, views, and other objects for new functionality and participate in database design decisions. You will also develop Oracle stored procedures and packages, functions, and triggers using PL / SQL, and develop scripts using SQL and PL / SQL programming to support client activities including data modification and reporting.
You will participate in maintenance calls to resolve database issues and perform necessary updates or patches. As an active participant in Sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, you will contribute to the Agile process.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
4 or more years of Oracle database development experience.
Experience with software development life cycles and database development and design preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
Proficiency in SQL scripting, performance tuning, and database design principles.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in a sprint-based environment.
Ability to support client DBA activities including performance tuning and identification and recommendations to resolve other issues between the database and application.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, should be able to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
Ability to work well with others as part of a team and work under tight time constraints.
Customer and account management experience desirable.
Experience with Java is desirable.
Must be available to do occasional after-hours support / maintenance.
Location
Although this position is remote-eligible, only qualified applicants local to the greater Phoenix, AZ area will be considered.
