Description

Our industry-leading government client is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to join their team.

The database administrator provides technical support in a production environment and has thorough knowledge of Oracle database application development and support. Responsibilities include supporting web infrastructure applications, analyzing root causes of issues, resolving application problems, and escalating unresolved issues to vendors as necessary. Support is 24x7 with on-call and weekend work expectations.

Rate: $45 - $50/hr W2

Location: Fully Remote

Responsibilities

• Provide application database development, performance tuning, and operational support.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Manage database backups, recoveries, patches, upgrades, design, development, testing, and performance tuning.
• Participate in client meetings.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends and nights.
• Share 24/7 on-call duties with team members.
• Experience with ServiceNow (SNOW) is a plus.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience with Oracle database systems on UNIX and Linux.
• Experience with Oracle 12c, 19c, RAC, Oracle ASM, and Transparent Data Encryption.
• Experience with Oracle 11g and 12c architecture, automation, backup & recovery, monitoring, and query tuning.
• Strong performance tuning skills and RMAN experience.
• Shell scripting skills required.
• Experience with database partitioning, patching, and cloning.
• Support experience in a Java environment and proficiency in PL/SQL.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with teams and clients.
