Job summary

Mission-Community-Hospital is seeking an OR Transporter to safely move patients and equipment to and from the operating room, ensuring sterile workflows and adherence to safety protocols. You will collaborate with surgical teams and nursing staff to maintain OR readiness and efficient patient flow.

The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and compassionate patient care, with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift and move patients and heavy equipment safely.
• Basic knowledge of hospital safety and infection control procedures.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Preferred: hospital experience in patient transport or support roles.
• Preferred: BLS or first aid certification.
• Preferred: familiarity with OR protocols and sterile environments.
• Preferred: ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred: additional training in patient handling and safety techniques.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients to and from the operating room, ensuring comfort and adherence to safety protocols.
• Move surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies as needed to support surgical procedures and maintain operating room readiness.
• Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to coordinate transport schedules and respond promptly to urgent requests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport equipment and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or patient concerns to appropriate personnel immediately.
