Job description

Job Title: OR TECHNICIAN (Full-Time; 36 hours/week) - Temple Health/Fox Chase Cancer Center (251744)

The surgical technologist, under the guidance of the registered nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of patients. Responsibilities include case preparation, assisting with patient preparation, handling instruments and equipment properly, preparing the sterile field according to the specific procedure and surgeon's preferences, and anticipating the surgeon's needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  2. Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology (Required)
  3. Certification: BLS - Basic Life Support (Required), CST - Certified Surgical Technologist (Required) or CORT - Certified Operating Room Technician (Required)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience in an operating room

Note: Certification is required only for individuals hired after December 29, 2020.
