Primary Scheduled Hours:72 hours per pay period (4, 9 hour days)
Pay Scale: Compensation within the posted range will be determined based on relevant experience and internal equity considerations.
Job Summary:Assists surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. Monitors PAR level of all surgical instruments and supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities. Responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following established infection prevention and control practices. Directs and checks the work of others in the absence of management staff. Willingness to accept new ideas and work under stressful conditions. Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities. Takes Call as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
Education Background and Experience Requirements
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of a Surgical Technology program.
Required Licensure / Certifications:
Current BCLS Certification. Call is required for this position with 30-minute response time.
Required Experience:
Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or Registered Surgical Technician.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the operating room/sterile processing.
