Job summary

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in Miami, FL seeks an OR Technician to support the surgical team with sterile technique and instrument handling. You will prepare sterile fields, assist during procedures, and help with patient transport and room turnover while complying with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Operating Room Scrub Technician Certification (CST) preferred.
• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Scrub Technician Program or experience as scrub tech.
• Current Basic Life Support certification or within 30 days of start date.
• 1 year minimum OR TECH experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assembles supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Prepares sterile instrument table and handles post-procedure cleanup.
• Maintains accurate sponge, sharp, and instrument counts with discrepancy reporting.
• Positions patient and prepares skin per hospital standards.
• Transports patients to and from surgical suite and assists during procedures.
• Cleans rooms between cases and ensures supplies are restocked.
