Job summary

Richmond University Medical Center in New York seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist for the Evening Shift. The role supports the operating room team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, and assisting the surgeon during procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, completed surgical technology training, NBSTSA certification, and 2-4 years OR experience. Must be able to lift 25 lbs and stand for long periods; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Completed Surgical Technology Program from Accredited School/ Program.
• NBSTSA certified.
• 2-4 years of experience in the Operating Room.
• Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to lift (up to 25lbs) and pushing of instrument carts.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Assists the surgeon during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, draping patient, etc.
• Maintains sterile technique.
• Prepares instruments, supplies and equipment per surgeon's preference card.
• Demonstrates timeliness of procedure set-up and turn-over cases within appropriate time frame.

Salary Range: $37.788/hr - $50.481/hr (Commensurate with Experience)
