Job summary

Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, NY seeks a Surgical Technologist for Day Shift (10 hours) per diem. Responsibilities include instrument pass-off, retractors, draping, and maintaining sterile technique under the surgeon’s guidance.

The role requires NBSTSA certification, current BLS, and 2–4 years OR experience, with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand long hours. High school diploma and surgical technology program completion are mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Completed Surgical Technology Program from Accredited School/Program.
• NBSTSA certified is required.
• 2-4 years of experience in the Operating Room.
• Current BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon during procedures by passing instruments and holding retractors.
• Maintain sterile technique and equipment during cases.
• Ensure timely set-up and turnover of cases within designated time frames.
