Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Grand Blanc, Michigan seeks a Surgical Technologist (Certified OR or Non-Certified) to join our operating rooms team. The role includes preparing rooms, equipment, sterile fields, and assisting surgeons during procedures.

Requires high school diploma, completion of an accredited surgical technology program (or TS-C with NCCT), BLS, and 2 years of experience; on-call, variable hours. McLaren is a large integrated system with opportunities across Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program with clinical experience; TS-C option accepted.
• Two years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating rooms, ensures equipment and supplies are disinfected and ready.
• Maintains sterile fields and assists during procedures as part of the surgical team.
• Prepares patient skin and positions for surgery, monitors patient status.
• Handles instrument counts, passes sterile items, and assists with specimen handling.
• Clerical duties such as inventory, logs, and patient information as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Accredited surgical technology program with clinical experience

Surgical Technologist Apprentice TS-C (NCCT) within 1 year

Two years’ experience as Surgical Technologist
