Job summary

Requirements include a high school diploma, accredited ST program completion, NBSTSA certification, and BLS. Prior OR exposure is preferred; on-call duties may apply with full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology training program.
• Certification as a surgical technologist (NBSTSA).
• One month of job-related experience or training.
• BLS certification or Canadian equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, ensure equipment and supplies are disinfected and ready.
• Maintain sterile field planning and execution during procedures.
• Provide support in pre-operative and post-operative phases.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, counting items, and labeling specimens.
• Transport patients when needed and help with wound dressings.
• Comply with HIPAA, OSHA and infection-control protocols.
