Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required.
• CST credential or eligibility required within specified timeframe.
• Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 6 months on-the-job healthcare facility experience.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques, procedures, and instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment with instruments and supplies.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs.
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies for patient safety.
• Handle, label, and maintain specimens per protocol.
• Clean, sterilize and restock surgical instruments and OR after procedures.
