Job summary

Cincinnati Eye Institute in Blue Ash, OH is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist in the operating room under surgeon and nurse supervision. You will help prepare the OR, manage instruments and supplies, and support the team to deliver safe, efficient patient care.

The role requires CST and BLS where applicable, with prior OR experience preferred. This PRN position involves 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday and occasional on-call duties in a fast-paced eye surgery setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two (2) years of hospital main operating room experience preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Knowledge of Amkai Charts Database software and Microsoft Word.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assists in surgical operations under supervision of Surgeons, RNs and Surgical Assistants.
• Keeps operating room organized and compliant with standards.
• Prepare OR by setting up instruments, ensuring equipment works and labeling solutions.
• Passes instruments and sterile supplies to surgical team.
• Gathers supplies, maintains patient records and supports patient transfer as needed.
• Ensures HIPAA compliance and participates in ongoing training.
