Job summary

Albany Med Health System in Albany, NY, seeks a Surgical Core Tech to execute and manage systems delivering surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment to the OR. You will organize, receive, store, and deliver items to support cases quickly and accurately.

The role supports SPD/Sterile core and Supply Chain Management in the OR, liaises with Surgery, SPD, Materials, and Clinical Engineering, and uses LEAN principles to improve service while maintaining patient safety and compliance with HIPAA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. - required
• 2 to 3 years’ experience in a support position, inventory control - preferred
• Basic business and computer skills, plus planning, interpersonal and communications skills

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains proper levels of core surgical supplies and sterile instruments
• Generate requisitions for acquisition and replenishment of materials
• Assure receipt and storage of materials to support scheduled cases
• Assemble case carts and ensure fully stocked delivery to the OR
• Return unopened supplies to correct locations and document inventory
• Support surgical staff by providing supplies, instruments, and equipment as needed
• Ensure supplies are patient safe and manage recalls per policy
• Maintain inventory and track utilization in inventory systems
• Coordinate with vendors for specialty products and problem solving
• Apply LEAN principles to daily routines for efficient service
