Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA seeks an OR Registered Nurse to circulate and scrub for diverse surgical cases, including cardiac, neuro, and robotic-assisted procedures. You’ll work with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and a skilled team to ensure safe, efficient care and positive patient outcomes.

Expect full training, opportunities to gain robotics experience, and ongoing education. Full-time days with a 36-hour schedule and call requirements support a busy OR environment.

Qualifications

• Must have RN license in Iowa or multi-state license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN program graduate.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub for a wide variety of surgical cases, with full training provided.
• Participate in high-acuity specialties including cardiac, neuro, and robotic-assisted procedures.
• Grow skills in robotics with hands-on experience with leading surgical technology.
• Assess patient needs pre-, intra-, and post-operatively, responding quickly to changes.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and support optimal patient outcomes.
• Document care and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Educate patients and families on procedure expectations and post-op care.
• Support, guide, and delegate tasks to LPNs and Nursing Assistants as needed.
• Participate in ongoing education, team meetings, and quality initiatives.
• Float to other units or adjust shifts as needed to support patient care.
