HonorHealth is seeking a PRN RN for the Network Float Pool across multiple campuses in the Phoenix, AZ area. The role requires a minimum of 10 months of med-surg or acute care experience, with a focus on stroke care and patient education. ADN or Diploma holders must pursue BSN within 60 months of hire.
The RN will coordinate with the multidisciplinary team, administer medications, manage IVs, and participate in competency development within a Shared Governance model.

The RN’s practice is guided by the ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics. The RN has knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served. The RN records patients’ medical history and symptoms, helps perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operates medical equipment, administers treatment and medications, and helps with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. The RN establishes a care plan or contributes to an existing plan, including activities such as administering medication, starting, maintaining, and discontinuing intravenous (IV) lines for fluid, medication, blood, and blood products, administering therapies and treatments, observing the patient, recording observations, and consulting with physicians and other healthcare clinicians.
The RN teaches patients and their families how to manage illnesses or injuries, explain post-treatment and home care needs, diet, nutrition, exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and therapy. The RN provides direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides regarding patient care and delegates when appropriate.
The RN supports efforts to advance clinical knowledge and skills. The RN precepts new hire staff and students, assists staff and students to complete competency tasks, continues to enhance knowledge in nursing management and patient care, and promotes a healthy work environment. Nursing practices are theory-based, evidence-based, utilizing a Shared Governance model.
All RN staff with direct responsibility for the care of stroke patients must have knowledge of stroke symptoms and warning signs, protocols, pathways, NIHSS, Stroke Alert activation and protocol, stroke quality indicators, patient education materials, community resources, educational requirements, and resources.
