Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Medical City McKinney is seeking an Operating Room RN for a Saturday-Sunday-Monday 7am-7pm schedule. This role emphasizes preparing patients for surgery, educating families, and ensuring patient safety through perioperative care.

You will work with surgeons, techs, and leaders to optimize workflows and patient outcomes, while applying the nursing process and evidence-based practices in a fast-paced OR setting.

Qualifications

• RN license/eligibility to practice in Texas.
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• 1+ year experience in OR required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education on peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Respond to patient emergencies with timely care.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care with evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including providers, surgeons and nurses.
• Document changes in patient condition and care provided.
