Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room in East Alton, Illinois. The role supports surgical patients and collaborates with the OR team to ensure safe, efficient procedures. A valid IL RN license and OR experience are required, with a focus on high‑quality perioperative care.

Shifts are 8‑hour days. Call is required 1 time per week and every 7–8th weekend, with a 45‑minute call response time.

Qualifications

• Active RN license to practice in Illinois.
• Minimum 1 year of OR experience preferred.
• Ability to respond to calls within 45 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Collaborates with interprofessional team to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Educates patients and families on perioperative care and post‑op needs.
• Maintains accurate documentation per hospital standards.
• Participates in on‑call rotations as required.
