Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse to provide competent nursing care in a hospital setting at Rex OR East in Raleigh, NC. The role reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and coordinates patient care using the nursing process.

The position includes a 40-hour work week (Monday–Friday, 6:30am–5pm with four 10-hour shifts and call requirements) and requires RN licensure in North Carolina and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after Jan 6, 2014, must enroll within four years and obtain a Bachelor's in Nursing or a Master's in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Education - Identifies learning needs of self and attends education programs.
• Evaluation of Care - Identifies outcomes and collaborates with the team.
• Implementation - Delivers competent nursing care for complex patients.
• Leadership - Supports unit goals and promotes interdepartmental collaboration.
• Patient Assessment - Determines priorities and discharge planning needs.
• Planning - Develops care plans with patient/family and uses multidisciplinary resources.
• Research - Engages with clinical literature and applies applicable findings.
