Travel Nurse Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1980 - $2120
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing (locum tenens)
• Location: Carlsbad, NM 88220
• Facility Size: 99-bed hospital
• Operating Rooms: 6
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 5, 2026
• Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts (7:00am – 5:30pm)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Call Requirements: Minimum 1 weekday per week, possible weekend rotation

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – New Mexico or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Clinical experience in general, orthopedic, OBGYN, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, robotics (DaVinci), and trauma cases
• Proven ability to provide adult and pediatric patient care

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Circulate and assist in a wide range of surgical procedures: general, orthopedic, OBGYN, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, and robotics
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in the operating room
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and the healthcare team
• Ensure timely case management, supply readiness, and effective communication with patients and families
• Update physician preference cards and supervise personnel delivering patient care
• Maintain compliance with State Nurse Practice Act, AORN standards, and hospital policies
