Job summary

Jennie Stuart Health is seeking a qualified registered nurse to coordinate and implement quality nursing care for surgical patients. The role requires on-call coverage for nights, weekends, and holidays, with adherence to standards of care and patient safety.

Responsibilities include administering medications with the 5 rights, accurate patient identification, completing nursing histories and assessments, and performing unit duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Two years of med-surg or comparable experience.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) current.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire date or transfer to the department.
• PALS preferred.

• Practices within the scope of license.
• Administers medication observing the "5 rights".
• Administers medication correctly based on patient's age and clinical condition.
• Utilizes two identifiers for proper patient identification.
• Performs skills and tasks required by unit expectations.
• Completes nursing HX and assessment accurately within expected time frames.
• Responsible and accountable for all actions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Minimum Education:

• Nursing Degree from accredited school of Nursing.
• Licensed in the state of Kentucky or compact state.

Required Licenses: Registered Nurses
