Job summary

Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, KY, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Surgical Services department. This is a PRN/As Needed, 1st shift role supporting perioperative care and patient safety.

The RN will coordinate patient care, administer medications, monitor conditions, document in EMR, and collaborate with the team to ensure quality outcomes in a community hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on individualized needs.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes in status to physicians and appropriate personnel.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments accurately and safely.
• Perform nursing interventions and procedures according to hospital protocols and standards of care.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, post-discharge care, and health maintenance.
• Collaborate with physicians, providers, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Adherent to infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and staff meetings.

Job Summary/Purpose

Role Minimum Qualifications

Required Education

• Associate's degree in nursing

Required Licensure and Certifications - At Hire

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication, teamwork, and time management skills
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)

Preferred Qualifications

• Surgery experience, willing to train if needed

BLS
KY licensed RN
ACLS, within 6 months of hire
PALS preferred
