Job summary

ThedaCare is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to provide clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients in a multispecialty surgical setting. The role emphasizes assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation with a focus on collaboration and high-quality outcomes.

With a BSN preferred and ACLS/BLS certifications, the candidate will work with a diverse team in a four-operating-room facility. Schedule includes 8-hour bi-weekly or 4-hour weekly shifts, no call, no weekends.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred or commitment to obtain within five years.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing accepted for those hired prior to 1/23/17.
• Current Wisconsin RN Licensure.
• American Heart Association BLS.
• Cardiology Department: ACLS.
• Two years clinical experience preferred in Cardiology.
• Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical condition and nursing needs of patients using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with interprofessional team to plan and provide high quality care.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise as a professional RN in the assigned clinical specialty.
• Identify ways to improve patient experience, streamline care, and lower costs.
• Mentor and engage colleagues to retain expert clinicians.
• Provide consultation and maintain positive relationships with physicians and team members.
• Manage risk and respond to emergencies as needed.

Job Description: 2 years of Surgery experience is highly preferred

Schedule: (1) 8-hour shift bi-weekly OR (1) 4 hour shift each week No Call No Weekends This is a four-operating-room and two procedural room facility that is a partnership between ThedaCare and the surgeons in the region. This center will have a diverse mix of case types that include general surgery, endoscopy, gynecology, ENT, podiatry, spine, and pain cases. The center will look to add additional service lines over time. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in a multispecialty surgical setting. Working knowledge of community surgeons is beneficial, but not a limitation. Key Accountabilities and Core Job Functions:

• Utilizes the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and specific competencies to assess the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, and develops a plan of care in a collaborative practice with the patient and interprofessional team.
• Plans for the care needs of the patient in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned, and performs all functions of the professional clinical nurse (RN), which are age appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific.
• Identifies ways to improve the patient’s experience of care, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting quality to improve patient, family, and team member satisfaction.
• Contributes to a professional environment that encourages mentoring, engagement, and development to retain expert clinicians.
• Provides consultation and maintains positive relationships with physicians and other interprofessional team members, collaborating to problem solve and improve patient care.
• Demonstrates, anticipates, and proactively manages risk to prevent crises.
• Performs skillfully in life threatening emergencies, matching demands and resources during crises situations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or commitment to obtain within five years.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing accepted in lieu of BSN for those hired prior to 1/23/17.
• Current Wisconsin RN Licensure
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Cardiology Department: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
• Two years clinical experience preferred preferably in Cardiology
• Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation
