Zusammenfassung

Northern Virginia Surgery Center is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide expert, compassionate clinical care and coordination throughout the patient care continuum. The role emphasizes safe, holistic care, education, and collaboration with the healthcare team to support optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities include preoperative preparation, OR setup, patient positioning, meticulous documentation, specimen handling, and sterile field maintenance.

Qualifikationen

• RN license in Virginia or eligible for licensure
• BLS certification required at start; ACLS certification optional and can be obtained within six months
• At least one year of progressive OR RN experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Aufgaben

• Circulating RN responsibilities: Preoperative patient preparation and consent verification
• Operating Room setup and equipment readiness
• Patient safety and positioning
• Accurate intraoperative documentation of procedure, times, personnel and events
• Liaison between surgical team and other departments
• Specimen handling and transport
• Environmental monitoring for sterile field and equipment
• Perform instrument counts with scrubbed team member
• Additional duties as needed: sterile field preparation, instrument management, post-procedure cleanup
