Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center in the Nashville area offers a Nurse Residency Program for licensed RNs with no operating room experience to train as perioperative nurses. The 5‑month internship combines didactic instruction, simulations, and hands‑on clinical hours in the hire facility.

You will work with a preceptor, complete orientation checklists, and attend regular progress meetings to develop foundational perioperative skills and patient‑care competencies for circulating and scrub roles.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing required for hire.
• Nurse Residency Program for new or non-surgical trained RNs.
• 1 year RN experience preferred but not required to start.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery and provide education.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation and perioperative processes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety.
• Participate in orientation, preceptor meetings, and competency validation.
• Develop foundational perioperative skills in circulating role under supervision.
