Job summary

Advocate Health's OR Academy invites new graduate RNs into a structured RN Post Graduate Training Program in the Operating Room, combining classroom instruction with hands-on clinical rotations to master OR care.

Stage I provides a general nursing orientation and five weeks of immersive classes; Stage II offers rotations in circulator and scrub roles under dedicated preceptors, building essential skills for safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of operating room experience.
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• RN licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Diligently readies for classroom and clinical commitments before arranging meetings.
• Consistently fulfills examination requirements on designated days.
• Keeps meticulous clinical case records.
• Upholds a constructive and enthusiastic demeanor during clinical rotations.
• Delivers age-appropriate care in strict accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Guidelines for the respective patient age groups when participating in patient care.
