Surgery Ventures, powered by HCA Healthcare, seeks an experienced OR Nurse Manager to lead surgical services in Kansas City, MO. This on-site role requires strong clinical leadership, staff supervision, and adherence to regulatory standards.

You will mentor OR Coordinators and staff, coordinate scheduling, and partner with surgeons and anesthesia teams to ensure safe, efficient perioperative care. BSN preferred and CNOR asset welcomed.

• Active Missouri RN license or eligibility to obtain

Role Description The OR Nurse Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Kansas City, MO. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the operating room, including staff scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource management to support safe and efficient surgical care. The OR Nurse Manager provides clinical leadership, supports evidence-based nursing practice, and ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising and mentoring the OR Clinical Nurse Coordinator, OR nursing staff, OR Techs and SPD Techs, collaborating with surgeons and anesthesia providers, monitoring quality and safety metrics, and participating in performance improvement initiatives. The role also involves managing direct reports, supporting staff education, and fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong clinical skills in perioperative nursing, including knowledge of OR procedures, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols. Scrub training preferred
• Leadership and management abilities, such as staff supervision, team building, conflict resolution, and performance evaluation.
• Organizational and operational skills, including scheduling, resource allocation, workflow optimization, and time management.
• Quality and compliance competencies, including familiarity with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and quality improvement methods.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and administrative teams.
• Ability to use basic office software to document care and manage operational data.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri (or eligibility to obtain), with BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of OR nursing experience with strong knowledge of orthopedic surgery, with prior leadership or charge nurse experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; advanced certifications in perioperative nursing (e.g., CNOR) are an asset.
